Thank you Heather. Good ideas for future installations. I like the idea of protection for all the "guts" of your tank. And for winter use, continuous flow is the best way to go. Your location as well as ours would take a very long extension cord.

Dave,
Thank you for the nice comment!
If you click the Double H Photography link under the photo you'll go to a longer post and more photos of different tanks. You can also email me at doublehphoto@live.com with your contact information, I would be happy to get my dad or brother in touch with you. They're the two who engineered and installed all the tanks, and would be a much better source of information than myself : )

Wow! It's so interesting to hear the stories from ranching families that have been raising cattle in Wyoming for generations. Bessey was quite a person, definitely someone to emulate!

Good job Katie! Coyotes can really be an effective predator on livestock, as you said, and not just baby deer, but also adult deer as well. Here in North Dakota, the coyotes have definitely taken a toll on our deer these past few brutal winters. It's been an easy winter so far, but predators need managed just like any other game species. Snaring can be a good way to do that, plus with the cost of hides up at least a little bit this year, maybe you can put a little extra money in your pocket as well!

This article relates to the Buffalo FFA chapter in Buffalo, Wyoming. However, rather then winning an item, the chapter donates to local food pantries and is dedicated to Community Service. Youth in Wyoming and in every state are and can be making a difference.

Our place is filled with shop projects that keep The Boss entertained during slow winter afternoon. He even "married" the best of 4 dead vehicles to make a handy pasture hauler for lick tubs. His best effort is wire clips for steel posts that allow the fence stretcher to be used. They keep disappearing from his stock supply as the neighbors discovered them. This is OK with him as their tight fence benefits us.
